Our vacations in Iceland

Golden Circle Tour

We visited some of the natural attractions in the Western part of Iceland by taking the classic Golden Circle bus tour. This full-day excursion allowed us to admire Iceland's spectacular natural scenery in a leisurely way. We walked around steamy bubbly ponds and waited patiently for the periodic eruptions of hot springs in the Geysir region, then relaxed in the Laugarvatn Fontana geothermal baths for a while while tasting bread baked in the hot lava ground. Continuing our excursion trip, we walked down to the viewing platforms of the spectacular Gullfoss waterfall, and ended a beautiful day in Thingvellir National Park, where the European and North American tectonic plates are splitting apart - one foot in North America and the other one in Europe.
